Lewis Jaoui - ‘Something We Can Figure Out’ | Single Review
January 12 | Written By Anna Konovalenko
Lewis Jaoui is a name already known among music enthusiasts, particularly fans of the Indie genre who recognise him as the drummer in the music band The Roly Mo. Yet this year Lewis astonished everyone with the release of his debut single 'Something We Can Figure Out’.
'Something We Can Figure Out’ showcases Lewis's passion for music. Optimistic tunes evoke a sense of hopeful anticipation for fresh starts. The song sort of carries a dual essence resembling both confession and ambition at the same time. The track exudes as tender but tempered. As one fan aptly commented it gives a vibe of 2000's Indie Rock music. The song echoes with early works of The Strokes and Arcade Fire leading nostalgic but, at the same time, hopeful tunes fueled with reflection on life’s purpose.
The first line ‘Here’s the sun coming/It all works out when you let it all in’ is a hopeful promise. The sun here may symbolize a new beginning or a positive outlook. The phrase ‘It all works out when you let it all in’ implies embracing life and being open to new experiences. It encourages the idea of acceptance and allowance for things to unfold naturally. The next line sings as a reassurance that you are never alone despite the outcome ‘If your dreams crush down/I’ll be around’.
The song has a sense of personal intimacy, suggesting that Lewis was nurturing it for some time. While he may still be in the process of defining himself as a solo performer, the song as a whole appears to be a manifestation of the part of himself he seeks to share. The seamless blend of lyrics and tunes effortlessly creates the perfect merge.
In some parts of the song, listeners can hear as though Lewis expresses his feelings which immediately follows with a discernible sense of relief in his voice. In the end, we are left wondering if the song serves as a self-reflection or more like a conversation with somebody.
This song will be perfect to listen to for everyone as it fills you with hope and inspiration. While ‘Something We Can Figure Out’ is now available to listen to on all main streaming platforms, the fans are frozen in anticipation of the next Lewis's singles.
