September 29 | Written by Anna Konovalenko
Are you waiting for fresh songs to listen to this fall? Seemway has just released a new song that will most certainly win the listeners. Thriving among local bands, Seemway is definitely not inferior to the pace of others. They have already authored one album and now present fans with a new highly anticipated song ‘Perimeter’.
Seemway is a four-member music group based in Oklahoma, California. Dawson Timpany, Phil Di Leo, Oscar Panting and Ryan Knapp identify themselves as a pop band, highlighting their significant focus on individual style. Seemway 'Tends toward texturally and energetically dynamic pop songs'. They owe their uniqueness to countless spontaneous improvisations that contrast with common influences of psychedelia, garage and electronic genres. Each song has undergone numerous transformations, shaping the perfect music track.
Their latest album ‘Seemways’, released in 2018, is a clear embodiment of the band's distinctive style. Seven songs in the album each have a different peculiarity. The two most famous tracks are 'Led Marquee' and 'Please Can't Remember'. Unhurried tempo and relevant words resonate very much in the hearts of fans. A distinctive feature of both songs is the instrumental part. Delicate piano lines and expressive guitar solos embrace the lyrics creating a perfect space to fully enjoy the song.
The recent single-released song ‘Perimeter’ is highly energetic. Slow melodic tunes make the music warm and charming. As is typical for pop songs ‘Perimeter’ invokes reflection and
intimate feelings through their lyrics: ‘Take your tender hand/ Move to light/ Stretch fingers/ Hold tight’. The song allows listeners to connect with the emotions and memories: ‘Lift up/ Find foothold/ Step forward’. Сombining meaningful words and such a charming melody, this high-spirited song creates positivity and lightness around listeners.
The music video perfectly resonates with the song. Directed and filmed by Dawson Timpany in 2020-2021, it became the beginning of a new album 'As It Stands'. The music video shows the beautiful landscapes of Joshua Tree, California. Combined and parallelly shown sunrises and sunsets create magic in the air. Listeners are left to enjoy the desolately remote scenery of arid plains and subtropical forests and mountains.
‘Perimeter’ is one of the six songs of the EP album ‘As It Stands’ that will be released in October 2023. As the album was written and recorded all over California for the past several years, the fans expect it to be even more revealing than the previous one.
