Niamh Morris - ‘When You Know, You Know’ | Single Review
Every once in a while, there’s a tune that comes along that easily sweeps you off your feet, and gives you that warm fuzzy feeling inside you didn’t even know you needed. As we are smack dab right in the middle of the season of all things cosy, merry and bright, this song is all of that and a pinch more.

Straylings -‘How Long’ | Single Review
Sometimes in the wake of discovery, you discover you’ve found something better than what you’d set out to look for in the first place. Not even necessarily better, but a more than suitable alternative, something different. The perpetual hunt for new music led me to Straylings one afternoon through the very happy medium of Spotify. Starting with some PJ Harvey, I let smart shuffle begin its industrious process.

The FODS - ‘Volumes of Silence’ | Single Review
The sound of the Sixties is widely recognised as being the music that broke ways with the formulaic songs of the 1950s, and had musicians articulating their personal and political beliefs in a way only jazz greats could convey. There was as much optimism and anticipation of what the future might bring (sadly, not much). Many, would definitely say, instead, that musicians nowadays –or since then- have been trying to recapture that feeling into their own music.

The track went on to exceed almost 80 million streams on spotify and get his face out on the music scene.
Orkid - ‘Where Flowers Grow’ | SIngle Review
ORKID’s effervescent ode to death is just over three minutes of good ol’-fashioned alt-pop pining. Both cutting-edge-current and also reminiscent of the dirty pop-synth-disco days of 2009 indie sleaze. It’s not hard to imagine Kate Moss smoking a cigarette out a Paris window to its charmingly laid-back beat.
The Ocho - ‘Stand Up Boy | Single Review
The up-and-coming country music meets indie band, The Ocho released their new single ‘Stand Up Boy’ on June 28th and this new song is too good to miss. This slower song shows off this incredibly talented group’s lyric combined with an electric sound.
Shimmer ‘94 - ‘So Young’ | Single Review
Shimmer ‘94 is a brand-new band from Glasgow, and are comprised of former members from Shredd, Deathcats, Faiides, Bluebirds and Las Acuarelas. Are they a “supergroup” ? Too soon to tell, but they are following up their debut single, You Must Be Getting Used to This, with So Young, a “guitar-driven, jangly power pop” summer tune about lessons they were thought when they were young and naive by their elders, but still learning things the slightly harder way.

Matty Marz - ‘Lacazette’ | Single Review
If you are a massive football fan and were hoping this review was for a song about the French footballer player, Alexandre Lacazette, this is not that. Matty Marz’s new song, Lacazette, is more about empowering and gassing yourself up to conquer the world, as if you were a football forward for Lyon. It will put a pop in your step, while also make one curious of who’s behind it.
