Feb 22 | Written By Caitlin Mathieson
The Ayrshire act Brownbear has moved from strength to strength since first bursting onto the scene in 2014 with their debut single Dead of Alive and are now proving they aren’t backing down anytime soon with their newest release ‘All I Want’, the lead single from their forthcoming second album Demons. The new single is immediately catchy, opening with energetic guitar riffs and the type of beat which can’t help but make you smile. As soon as the vocals kick in, listeners are transported to summer, showing the bands ability at capturing a mood via their music. The pre-chorus build exceptionally well, demonstrating the technical song writing ability behind the track. This allows appreciation for the solid musical foundation the band has, making it no surprise at how well the song comes together overall.
By ending the track by taking the energy down to simple vocals and an echo of the lively guitar, it really helps the meaning behind the lyrics come across. All in all, All I Want can be described as a lesson in how to write a perfect summer indie rock song; easy riffs that continue to live on in fans heads and vocals you can’t get enough off. Fans will be happy to hear that Brownbear are continuing to pave their way through the Scottish indie rock scene with their second studio album released on March 17th . Guaranteed to be filled with more lively buzzing indie tracks, Demons will be an album to keep an eye out for. Alongside this, an album release show will be held at Saint Luke’s on March 24th which will undoubtedly be a celebration of Brownbear and further solidify their incredible ability to make the kind of exciting music that makes you want to move your feet as already proved with this latest release.
